Q4 2010 - Market Summary
The near term demand for health care workers in the Portland metro area improved during the fourth quarter despite relatively little news. Of note, PeaceHealth announced plans to move about 100 jobs from Lane County to Vancouver, WA where the organization is consolidating many of its back office functions.
On a comparative basis, the Portland health care labor market improved slightly as measured by its Q4 LMPI score to 48.2, up 5% from Q3 and inline with the national composite of 48.9.

Lane Co. PeaceHealth jobs to move. December 16, 2010
PeaceHealth plans to move about 100 jobs from Lane County to Vancouver, Wash., where the hospital operator is consolidating many of its back office functions. The move is being prompted by PeaceHealth’s acquisition of Southwest Washington Medical Center in Vancouver. Employees holding the relocated jobs must now decide whether to stay in Lane County or make the move north.
