Q3 2010 - Market Summary

The near term demand for health care workers in the Los Angeles metropolitan area slipped during the third quarter of 2010. Of particular note during a somewhat quiet quarter, Grossman Burn Center reopened in a $3 million, 13,500 square foot facility at the West Hills Hospital and Medical Center.

On a comparative basis, the Los Angeles health care labor market remained slightly weaker than much of the rest of the country registering a Q3 LMPI score of 46.44 compared the national composite of 50.62, down 17% from the prior quarter.

Grossman relocating to new facility at West Hills Hospital. August 10, 2010
Grossman Burn Center, which previously was located in Sherman Oaks, reopened in a $3 million, 13,500 square-foot facility at the West Hills Hospital and Medical Center.
The new facility, which was built inside West Hills’ former intensive care unit, has space for 39 beds, including eight private rooms for burn patients. The facility includes Grossman’s national headquarters and will be served by 10 doctors and 34 nurses and staff.
