Q1 2010 - Market Summary

The near-term demand for health care workers in the Kansas City metropolitan area held steady during Q1. Of note, Nueterra Healthcare is set to open a new hospital that will employ between 90 and 100 by the end of its first year. The hospital is a joint venture between Dallas-area physicians, Methodist Health System and Nueterra.

On a comparative basis, the Kansas City health care labor market remained inline with much of the other major metropolitan areas across the country. Its LMPI score of 47.4 for Q1 2010 was up from 42.2 in the prior quarter and comparable to the national composite index of 49.9.
