Rowland Cos. to build new Christus hospital in Alvin. November 13, 2009
Plans were unveiled for a new $60 million Christus Health hospital and medical office building in Alvin. Phase I includes a 26-bed, 60,000-square-foot hospital and 40,000-square-foot medical office building. Depending on demand, the hospital could expand to 230,000 square feet, and a second 90,000-square-foot medical office building could be built. The City of Alvin is financially supporting the project, which is ultimately expected to create more than 275 jobs.

Memorial Hermann to embark on $104 million expansion in The Woodlands. October 30, 2009
Memorial Hermann plans to break ground during the first half of 2010 on a seven-story patient tower on its 20-acre medical campus north of Houston. Memorial Hermann’s campus in The Woodlands has a work force of 1,375 employees. Another 75 to 100 workers will be added following the expansion.
